A milestone alert for one of the most dedicated and hard working women this week. Our passionate captain Holly Aiston will play in her 50th senior game for the club at home vs Hahndorf this Sunday.
Aisto not only gives 110% on the field, but has taken on her role as captain like a champion. She is a true leader both on and off the field. Her desire to create an environment in that everyone feels welcome and has a voice is such a wonderful quality to have in a leader of the club.
On field Aisto has a never say die attitude, she will see out every minute of the game. She is also one of the most encouraging teammates to have around. Her passion for personal and team growth is contagious.
We are so lucky to call Holly a part of the Mt Lofty Devils Family.
A big congratulations to this amazing human on reaching her first big milestone of 50 senior games for the Devils – Kimmy Lawson who will be taking the field this Sunday in a top of the table clash out at Mt Barker.
This hard working backliner and dedicated Devil was one of the Lofty Ladies from our inaugural season in 2016, who after a bit of a break in the great white north, has joined us again to help dominate on the field as well as mentor our new generation of girls coming through.
Never without a smile and positive attitude, combined with her willingness to pitch in off the field, Kimmy’s value to our club extends far beyond her football skills. She is an absolute gem.
CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING 50 KIMMY. GIVE ‘EM HELL!

Mt Lofty Districts Football Club supports the SA Government’s push to raise the profile of road safety in our community through the ‘Think about who you’ll leave behind‘ campaign.
We encourage all club members to be role models for improving road safety. Focus on reducing the Fatal Five:
Speeding
Not wearing a seatbelt
Driving distracted
Driving when fatigued
Using alcohol or drugs before driving
There are about 180 regional footy clubs around South Australia that attract approximately 15,000 senior players each year. Sadly, it’s these same players, their mates and their communities that are so often affected by road trauma.
In 2021, all teams (HFL and SANFL) are using the last touch rule.
The interpretation of the rule is as follows:
A free kick shall be awarded against a player who kicks or handballs the football and it goes over the boundary line without the football being touched by another player.
The rule is being introduced for the following reasons:
It provides clear and concise interpretations without the grey areas of “What is deliberate?”
It allows us to allocate 3 boundary umpires on large grounds as it requires less throwing in.
It aligns us with SFL, GSFL, RML, SANFL and most South Australian country leagues which makes events like Association and Country Carnivals more consistent in interpretation.
It allows for more flow in the game and less throw ins hence quicker more attractive football.
