SANFL JUNIORS U15 GIRLS B&F | LILY SMART

SANFL JUNIORS U15 GIRLS B&F | LILY SMART

Congratulations to our U15 Girls captain Lily Smart who was named the SANFL Juniors Best & Fairest player for U15 Girls D3 last week.

Lily has had an outstanding season and finished on 28 votes, ahead of Elizabeth Rowe from Hope Valley on 23 votes, and Carla Brown (Tea Tree Gully) and Isabelle Dawson (Marion) in equal third on 13 votes.

Lily was also named Best On Ground in the U15 Girls Grand Final on Sunday, which Mount Lofty won over Hope Valley.

Lily is also in the Sturt U16 Girls Talent Squad. And a little birdie told us she is also a crazy good long jumper and triple jumper and represents SA at national comps.

Congratulations Lily! What a star!

HFL MAIL MEDAL RUNNER UP | RAPHIN SCHARPF

HFL MAIL MEDAL RUNNER UP | RAPHIN SCHARPF

Congratulations to Mt Lofty Devils Junior Colts player Raphin Scharpf who was named the runner up in the Mail Medal count tonight behind Uraidla’s Eli Nightingale.

Raphin is known for his athleticism, speed and competitiveness but it’s his extreme courage, consistent high-level performance and clean skills that makes him invaluable to our team and without doubt eye catching to whoever casts the votes. He’s a true Mt Lofty kid who’s progressed through the ranks and instead of being withdrawn when not kept in the Sturt squad, he increased his level and became a leader in the U16’s winning multiple BOG awards.

Congratulations Raphin! Give ‘em Hell next year 💪

HFL MAIL MEDAL RUNNER UP | KIERA MAY & PHOEBE NECK

HFL MAIL MEDAL RUNNER UP | KIERA MAY & PHOEBE NECK

Congratulations to Mt Lofty Devils U17 Girls players Keira May & Phoebe Neck, who have both polled as HFL Mail Medal joint runner’s up at Wednesday nights vote count, behind Hahndorf’s Monique Bessen.

To have two footballers’ poll in the top three is a huge accolade.

Even more astonishingly, these two girls both joined the U17 Girls all year on a ‘Play Up’ Permit, having been eligible to play in our SANFL U15 Girls team. Kiera & Phoebe have been playing in the Sturt U16 team, represented SA State, and trained in the Crows Academy Squad in 2022.

Congratulations girls! Give ‘em Hell next year ❤️

U15 GIRLS GRAND FINAL BOUND!

U15 GIRLS GRAND FINAL BOUND!

What an amazing couple of years our U15 Girls have had. After shocking the football community by beating the undefeated Henley to win the premiership last year, the girls are on track for back to back victory.

They will take on Hope Valley on Sunday at 9am at Hisense Stadium (Richmond Oval) in what is guaranteed to be a heated encounter given the very physical semi final clash between the two teams.

Coaches Michael Smart and Sam Macmillan said the premiership in 2021 was incredibly rewarding given the team’s underdog status all season.

This year Mt Lofty go into the grand final as flag favourites, a more comfortable position, but one filled with expectation.

Can the U15 Girls bring home the shield for the second year in a row?

We think they can!
