On Saturday 20 September 2025, Heathfield Oval became the proud stage for the HFL Grand Final – the biggest day on the Hills Football calendar. It was a day filled with passion, energy, and community spirit, and it simply would not have been possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteers.
To every person who gave their time, effort, and heart to make the day so memorable – thank you. You not only helped deliver a highly successful Grand Final, but you also showcased the strength and unity of the Mount Lofty District Football Club.
We would like to give special acknowledgement to:
James Lindsay, whose skill as MC guided the day with energy and professionalism.
Our dedicated Organising Committee of Megan Billerwell, Greg Bond, Peter Harvey, Bek Schubert, Nick and Sam Begg and Jenny Greenow – whose tireless planning ensured every detail came together seamlessly.
Bruce Dawes, Brad Burch, Heath Sandland, Hayden Cutting, Josh Biggs, and Trevor Gould, whose hard work behind the scenes ensured Heathfield Oval looked its absolute best to host the pinnacle of the football season.
LCS Maintenance (Tim Mead) who ensured the ground looked in tip top shape.
Thanks to the enormous community support and generosity on the day, we are proud to share that significant funds were raised, which will go directly towards the upgrade of our club BBQ facilities over summer. This will provide lasting benefits for our members, players, and families for many seasons to come.
Together, you created a day that will long be remembered – not just as a great game of football, but as a celebration of what makes our club and our community so special.
On behalf of the Mount Lofty District Football Club, thank you for your commitment, your generosity, and your spirit. The success of the Grand Final belongs to you all.
We look forward to building on this success and welcoming you all back in 2026 for another unforgettable season of Hills Football.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Chris Illman President Mount Lofty District Football Club
On behalf of the rest of MLDFC, we would like to thank President Chris Illman for his tireless efforts in season 2025. He not only conducted a normal Presidential role, but excelled in sponsor management, along with many other volunteer hats. On top of that, Chris brought together and led our HFL Div 1 Grand Final Committee to produce an amazing event to be remembered. A feat to be celebrated! From all at the Mt Lofty Devils Football Club, we thank you Christmas
What a massive day at Heathfield Oval as Mt Lofty District Football Club proudly hosted the HFL Grand Final! Thank you to the many, many volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day such a success.

It’s the biggest weekend of the year – and this time, we’re hosting! Heathfield Oval will be the stage for the 2025 HFL Grand Final on Saturday 20 September, and our Devils are right in the thick of it with two teams chasing premiership glory.
With the B Grade and U16 Boys both earning their spot on the big day, it promises to be a huge celebration of Devils football and a showcase of what makes our club so special.
U16 Boys: 9.40am V Mount Barker: Our U16s have battled hard all season and now face Mt Barker in what’s set to be a fierce contest. Both teams bring plenty of talent, and the boys will be looking to get the day off to the best possible start with a strong performance. They’ve shown grit and determination throughout finals, and the grand final is the perfect stage to put it all together.
B Grade: 12.40pm V Blackwood: Our B Grade have had a season to remember, and their thrilling finals campaign has them lining up against Blackwood for the ultimate prize. Expect a hard-fought clash – these two sides know each other well, and the contest will be tough and uncompromising. With the Devils faithful behind them, our Bs will be giving it everything to bring home the cup.
As hosts of this year’s HFL Grand Finals, Mt Lofty is proud to welcome the Hills football community to Heathfield Oval. It’s set to be a brilliant day of local footy, and we’d love to see as many red and white supporters as possible lining the boundary, making plenty of noise, and cheering our teams to victory.
There are still plenty of volunteer roles to fill to help make the day a success – if you can lend a hand, please add your name to the roster here.
Good luck to our U16 Boys and B Grade – give ’em hell Devs!
What a game! Our U16s have booked their spot in the HFL GrandFinal after a gutsy 4-point win over Onkas on Saturday morning. An absolute thriller – well done boys!
And congratulations to our U12s for their huge effort in their Grand Final on Friday night – and all season. They went down to Uraidla, but what a year they’ve had. 2025 Runners Up and a team we’re all so proud of.
Our Bs had the weekend off and are now locked in and ready for the bigdance.
It’s Grand Final time for our U12s! They take on Uraidla under the lights at 6pm on Friday night at Uraidla. Let’s pack the boundary with a strong Devils crew and give our young guns the lift they need to bring home the flag!
On Saturday morning, our U16s face Onka Valley in a Preliminary Final at Hahndorf. These teams have been neck and neck all season, so this one’s set to be a thriller. Get to Hahndorf and help our boys fight their way into the Grand Final!
Meanwhile, our B Grade enjoy a well-earned weekend off after last Saturday’s win secured their spot in next weekend’s Big Dance.
