As we enter the 2023 season, I am pleased to inform that our player registrations are significantly higher than the same time last year. We have 20 teams registered across HFL and SANFL competitions with great numbers attending pre-season trainings. Our first home game for our Juniors and Senior Men is versus Blackwood on April 1. I would encourage you to get along and support the club.
These strong player numbers have been built off our successful Auskick program. To continue this trajectory, we are recruiting for our 2023 AusKick coordinator. As our community sporting club is underpinned by great people giving up their time to ensure our kids have a great experience, I would ask for your consideration to take on this vital role.
Auskick is designed for kids 5 to 12 with participants encouraged to have fun and make new friends whilst developing basic football skills. The Auskick coordinator is integral to creating a wonderful Auskick experience for all participants, volunteers and parent/guardians and is crucial to positively contributing to the wider community. It is also the feeder to our Modified program and as such underpins the future of the club.
We have a wealth of support for the successful candidate including:
Leith Dawes β Coaching support and mentoring. leithdawes@adam.com.au. Leith in 2021 was the SA recipient of the AFL Junior Coach of the year award. As an Under 10 coach himself in 2023 and a previous Auskick coordinator, he has a wealth of knowledge for the successful candidate.
Gavin Klose β Junior Football Coaching Coordinator. jcc@mtloftydevils.com.au. An experienced coach at modified and junior level at MLDFC.
Our man Leith Dawes, that has given everything to the Devils, along with a number of other surrounding local community clubs, has hit the pinnacle of his sporting career.
Join us in congratulating Leithal, as he takes on his journey to Cape Town to represent Australia in Over 50s Cricket against some of the worlds best!
The history of our community clubs that encompass our arena will be forever remembered.
Thanks to the Mt Lofty Community Sports Club for arranging the bench seats in honour of Stan and Barb Evans for having the forth sight, inspiration and dedication to make our home what we know it is today. They also unveiled the new plaque to showcase the history of the space.
The CSC work with the Mt Lofty Devils, the Mt Lofty Cricket Club, Heathfield Netball Club and the Stirling Netball Club all of whom were there to represent on the day, and along with our Devils, two others happened to have family focussed event days booked in on the same day. What a great day for the hills, and hopefully, exactly the day Stan and Barb first envisioned when they planned a community oval in the area all those years ago.
From all of the Mt Lofty Devils current and past, thank you Stan and Barb β€οΈ
