We have six teams in the hunt for a premiership – our B Grade Men, U18 Boys, U16 Boys, U15 Girls, U13 Girls and U12 Boys – with some do or die matches coming up this weekend.
Our U12 Boys take on Onkas on Friday night in a semi final at Summit Oval in Mount Barker, while our U16 Boys take on Mt Barker in an elimination final on Sunday in Callington.
On Saturday we have a Mt Lofty double header at Blackwood Oval, with our U18 Boys taking on Blackwood at 11am and our B Grade Men taking on Mt Barker at 12.40pm.
There will be two U15 Girls finals to watch at Arkaba Oval on Sunday. First Marion will take on Lockleys at 12pm in an elimination final, then our Mt Lofty U15 Girls will take on Hope Valley in a semi final at 1.45pm. Get to the oval to cheer them on if you can. The BBQ will be fired up!
Also on Sunday, our U13 Girls play a prelim final V Edwardstown at St Mary’s Park, after defeating Brighton convincingly on the weekend. If they win on Sunday, they’ll take on Henley in the GF!
In our Mt Lofty TEAMS competition for the Toyota Good 4 Footy Raffle, the U13 Girls are leading with $685 worth of ticket sales so far, but the U16 Boys team is making a late charge with $380 worth of ticket sales.
Can the U16 Boys beat the U13 Girls? Can the U15 Girls make a comeback (still sitting on $190 in sales)? Can another team challenge for the prize?
The team that raises the most money in the Good 4 Footy Raffle using their unique link (see below), will win a $200 voucher to spend at the Aldgate Pump Hotel.
In addition, all money raised goes towards our new digital scoreboard AND you could win a car!
The raffle closes on 5 September 2022 and prize winners are announced on 9 September 2022.
Season 2022 presentations for our Moddies teams are happening this Sunday at the Club..
Award presentations will take place upstairs in the new changerooms, with the bar open throughout the day in the club rooms. Timing of presentations is:
It’s Grand Final weekend for our U17 Girls who take on Hahndorf at 12pm on Sunday at Hanson Oval, Mt Barker. Our girls have been hit by injuries in recent weeks and are going into the game as underdogs. We need our Devils’ army at the match on Sunday cheering them on!
Our SANFL Juniors teams start their finals campaigns this weekend. Our U13 Girls take on Brighton at Henley Oval at 9am on Sunday, in an Elimination Final. They also need our support so get down there if you can. Our U15 Girls will enjoy a weekend off as they finished top – congratulations to the Minor Premiers!
Meanwhile it’s the last minor round for our HFL Boys/Mens teams, with most of our teams in finals contention:
U12 Boys – 2nd
U16 Boys – 5th
U18 Boys – 3rd
B Grade Men – 2nd
It’s a must win game for our A Grade Men who take on ladder leader Hahndorf on Saturday (plus a few other matches need to go our way…). Can our boys pull off a mighty upset and book a finals spot?
I am writing to you today to advise you all that as of season end 2022 I will be standing down from my position of President of the Mount Lofty District Football Club.
This is my third year in the position and it is now time for me to step aside and let someone else take this club into next season and beyond.
I believe I leave the club in a great position, and thanks to the tireless work of many, both on committees and within our volunteer network, I believe the club has never been in a better position both on and off the field. That being said, there are still plenty of improvements to be made.
The club is now seeking interest from our community for the position of President for season 2023 and beyond.
This is a very important role at the club. The President ensures that operations at the club run responsibly and professionally, working closely with committees and volunteers, and is the main club ambassador and advocate.
If you are interested in having a chat about the President role and what it entails, please give me a confidential call on 0418 804 768 or email scott@trimad.com.au.
As part of our planning for 2023, we’re also looking for new people to join the junior and senior committees, which is a great way to be active within the club and pro-active about shaping its future directions. If you are interested in getting involved, please email us via comms@mtloftydevils.com.au.
Thank you for giving me the honour of being the President of such a great Hills’ club. It has been a massive and challenging undertaking, but one I will look back on with fond memories.
I particularly thank those closest to me for their support and I look forward to seeing what this club can do in the next few years.
