I am writing to you today to advise you all that as of season end 2022 I will be standing down from my position of President of the Mount Lofty District Football Club.
This is my third year in the position and it is now time for me to step aside and let someone else take this club into next season and beyond.
I believe I leave the club in a great position, and thanks to the tireless work of many, both on committees and within our volunteer network, I believe the club has never been in a better position both on and off the field. That being said, there are still plenty of improvements to be made.
The club is now seeking interest from our community for the position of President for season 2023 and beyond.
This is a very important role at the club. The President ensures that operations at the club run responsibly and professionally, working closely with committees and volunteers, and is the main club ambassador and advocate.
If you are interested in having a chat about the President role and what it entails, please give me a confidential call on 0418 804 768 or email scott@trimad.com.au.
As part of our planning for 2023, we’re also looking for new people to join the junior and senior committees, which is a great way to be active within the club and pro-active about shaping its future directions. If you are interested in getting involved, please email us via comms@mtloftydevils.com.au.
Thank you for giving me the honour of being the President of such a great Hills’ club. It has been a massive and challenging undertaking, but one I will look back on with fond memories.
I particularly thank those closest to me for their support and I look forward to seeing what this club can do in the next few years.
Our U17 Girls will play a prelim final on Sunday in Mt Barker after a MASSIVE win last Sunday in the elimination final via a goal after the siren.
Meanwhile our Senior Men’s match on Saturday will be live streamed from Arkaba Oval at 2.30pm by Filming Footy and Call of the Wild. It’s a big day at Arkaba Oval on Saturday with many of our HFL juniors and seniors playing at home, featuring the Chairman’s Lunch during the day with Guest Speaker Dizzy Gillespie!
It’s the final minor round for our SANFL Juniors teams on Sunday, with our U15 Girls guaranteed a top of the ladder finish and our U13 Girls currently sitting 2nd.
In our Mt Lofty TEAMS competition for the Toyota Good 4 Footy Raffle, the U13 Girls are still leading with $685 worth of ticket sales so far, but the U16 Boys team is making a late charge with $310 worth of ticket sales.
Can the U16 Boys beat the U13 Girls? Can the U15 Girls make a comeback (still sitting on $190 in sales)? Can another team challenge for the prize?
The team that raises the most money in the Good 4 Footy Raffle using their unique link (see below), will win a $200 voucher to spend at the Aldgate Pump Hotel.
In addition, all money raised goes towards our new digital scoreboard AND you could win a car!
It’s a HUGE weekend for the Devils, with our Senior Women playing a semi final, our U17 Girls playing an elimination final and our Moddies teams playing their last round of the season.
Meanwhile, it’s round 16 for our Mens and HFL Juniors teams who are away at Echunga on Saturday.
There is some action at Arkaba Oval on Friday night, with our U11 Whites playing at 6pm, our U11 Reds playing at 7pm, and our U15 Girls playing at 8pm.
Arkaba Oval will host the first round of finals for the HFL Women’s comp on Sunday.
Our Senior Women finished second and will take on Blackwood in a qualifying final at 1.30pm. Following this at 3pm, Mt Barker will play Uraidla in an elimination final.
This will be a great afternoon of women’s football and we’re encouraging all spectators and helpers to be there on the day.
