Researchers from UniSA (including a member of the Devils family) are running a survey to better understand knowledge, attitudes, confidence, and practices around recognising and managing concussion in Junior Australian Rules Football.
The survey is open to people over 18 who are either:
A parent of a child playing junior footy (15 years or younger), or
Involved in junior footy as staff or a volunteer,
The lead researcher is Hunter Bennett, a past Mt Lofty player and senior Lecturer in Exercise and Sport Science at UniSA. Members of Hunter’s family are MLDFC Life Members.

A huge congratulations to our U17 Girls who are the HFLW premiers! They beat Mt Barker by 48 points in the Grand Final at Handorf, making it three in a row. Well done to Adrian and team on another great season. You’ve made the club proud.
Congratulations also to our U12s who had a good win against Uraidla on Friday night in their qualifying final and have gone straight through to their Grand Final in two weeks.
Meanwhile, there were mixed results for our teams on Saturday for the last minor round of the season. Our B Grade had a good win V Nairne and have finished top of the ladder and our U14s also took the chocolates – a great way to finish their season – but there were losses for our As, U18s and U16s. Now our U16s, U18s, Bs and As all look ahead to finals next weekend.
Well done to all our teams for their efforts! Check out the results below or on PlayHQ.
See you next week Devs fans!
A GRADE | HFL Mt Lofty def by Nairne 7.12.54 11.14.80 Ladder position: 2
It’s grand final time for our U17 Girls, who take on Mt Barker at Hahndorf on Sunday. Devils army, we need you there cheering on our girls as they attempt to go back to back to back!
Meanwhile, it’s the final minor round in the HFL, with our boys taking on the Rams at home on Saturday. Our A Grade men are facing off Nairne in a massive Courier Cup clash of 1 V 2 – this is a match not to be missed.
Finally. our U12s have their first Qualifying Final V Uraidla at Blackwood on Friday night. They finished 2nd so have a double chance, but we’re behind you to go straight through to the GF! Good luck! And our U14 Girls have a weekend off, going straight through to the SANFL Juniors GF in two weeks.
Since February, your Grand Final Committee has been hard at work bringing together the biggest event on the football calendar – the 2025 HFL Grand Final on Saturday 20 September.
Now, as we reach the final stages of planning, we need your help to make the day a success. We’re calling for volunteers to assist on Grand Final day. There’s every chance we’ll see Lofty teams on the field, so rosters have been designed around when teams are likely to play.
That said, please don’t feel locked into specific times – encourage players, parents and supporters to sign up wherever it best fits.
Free entry to the Grand Final (the HFL manages the gate on the day).
A front-row role on one of the most exciting days of the season.
The satisfaction of supporting a huge fundraising opportunity – proceeds will help us bridge the gap needed to upgrade our oval lights to LED by season 2026.
We’ve got an incredible day planned, including half-time and post-game entertainment, so it promises to be a memorable celebration of football and community.
Please click on the roster link above and add your name, and share the link with your networks to help us fill the time slots. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.
We are seeking between 28 and 36 people across key timeslots! With over 500 players in the club, it should be easy to fill those spots fast!
Let’s make this Grand Final not only a great day on the field, but a shining moment for the Mount Lofty community.
Congratulations to our U14 Girls and U17 Girls who have both made their Grand Finals! Our U14s had a good win against Ingle Farm and now have a week off before their SANFL Juniors Grand Final. Our U17s beat Blackwood and will take on Mt Barker next Sunday in the HFLW GF.
There were lots of other good results this weekend, including for our As, Bs, U18s, U16s and U12s. Our U16s are now sitting top of their ladder, with one minor round to go.
Well done to all our teams for their efforts! Check out the results below or on PlayHQ.
