On Saturday 20 September 2025, Heathfield Oval became the proud stage for the HFL Grand Final – the biggest day on the Hills Football calendar. It was a day filled with passion, energy, and community spirit, and it simply would not have been possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteers.
To every person who gave their time, effort, and heart to make the day so memorable – thank you. You not only helped deliver a highly successful Grand Final, but you also showcased the strength and unity of the Mount Lofty District Football Club.
We would like to give special acknowledgement to:
- James Lindsay, whose skill as MC guided the day with energy and professionalism.
- Our dedicated Organising Committee of Megan Billerwell, Greg Bond, Peter Harvey, Bek Schubert, Nick and Sam Begg and Jenny Greenow – whose tireless planning ensured every detail came together seamlessly.
- Bruce Dawes, Brad Burch, Heath Sandland, Hayden Cutting, Josh Biggs, and Trevor Gould, whose hard work behind the scenes ensured Heathfield Oval looked its absolute best to host the pinnacle of the football season.
- LCS Maintenance (Tim Mead) who ensured the ground looked in tip top shape.
Thanks to the enormous community support and generosity on the day, we are proud to share that significant funds were raised, which will go directly towards the upgrade of our club BBQ facilities over summer. This will provide lasting benefits for our members, players, and families for many seasons to come.
Together, you created a day that will long be remembered – not just as a great game of football, but as a celebration of what makes our club and our community so special.
On behalf of the Mount Lofty District Football Club, thank you for your commitment, your generosity, and your spirit. The success of the Grand Final belongs to you all.
We look forward to building on this success and welcoming you all back in 2026 for another unforgettable season of Hills Football.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Chris Illman
President
Mount Lofty District Football Club
On behalf of the rest of MLDFC, we would like to thank President Chris Illman for his tireless efforts in season 2025. He not only conducted a normal Presidential role, but excelled in sponsor management, along with many other volunteer hats. On top of that, Chris brought together and led our HFL Div 1 Grand Final Committee to produce an amazing event to be remembered. A feat to be celebrated! From all at the Mt Lofty Devils Football Club, we thank you Christmas
