With the finals season well underway, on behalf of the Committee, I want to say the biggest THANK YOU possible to all those who volunteered their time to help the Mount Lofty District Football Club host the HFL Elimination Finals on Sunday at Heathfield Oval.
Without a doubt, wherever I looked, I came across a cheerful bunch of volunteers, who happily dedicated a couple of hours during their Sunday to roll up their sleeves and ensure the wider HFL community enjoyed a cracking day of Elimination Finals at Heathfield.
The buzz was palpable throughout the day, and I was congratulated several times by members of other clubs and HFL committee members on how well the event was run, and by the warm welcome extended by you all. Our sincere gratitude to every one of you, whether working on the BBQ, or behind the scenes in preparation for the day, in achieving such a successful outcome for the club!
With one premiership in the bag (U17 Girls), we still have four teams competing for a flag (U14 Boys, U16 Boys, U18 Boys and A Grade). With all four teams competing at Echunga this Sunday in do-or-die matches, we are calling out to every member of the Red Army to head out and give them all our support.
I look forward to seeing you there! Go Devs!
Peter Harvey President Mt Lofty District Football Club
Excitement is building at the Devils, with our Senior Women and U17 Girls both playing qualifying finals on Sunday against Blackwood at Blackwood. Let’s go Devs!
Our U12 Girls are also playing finals footy in the SANFL Juniors comp – for them an elimination final V Payneham at Goodwood Oval on Sunday morning. Good luck girls!
Before that, our boys take on Lobethal at home for Round 16, with the action kicking off at 8.45am. It’s also the Lofty Legends Reunion Round, so make sure you get to the Arkaba Clubhouse to join in the fun and reminiscing.
Set up camp at Mt Barker this weekend as all our HFL and HFLW teams are taking on the Roos. The action kicks off on Friday night with our U12s, then our boys take over on Saturday and our girls finish the round off in Barker on Sunday. It’s the final minor round for our HFLW teams and both the U17s Girls and Senior Women will make finals, so let’s get out and cheer them on.
On Saturday, our U14s will be playing off for the Courier Cup. This tradition sees the top two teams in each division at the halfway point of the Home and Away season play off for the Courier Cup when they meet again in the second round of the season. Good luck boys!
Meanwhile, our two SANFL Juniors teams have their penultimate round, with our U14 Girls taking on Henley at home on Sunday and our U12 Girls taking on Payneham away on Friday night.
Our teams are raring to go after a weekend off. The boys are playing at home in some top of the table battles with Hahndorf. Don’t miss this action, kicking off at 8.45am on Saturday.
Meanwhile, our U17 Girls and Senior Women head to Blackwood Oval for Super Sunday clashes with Maccy and Blackwood Green. And our U12 Girls take on Goodwood and our U14 Girls take on Marion, both away.
