Congratulations to Devils player Georgia Swan who has been named as a Port AFLW training partner, to aid in her development and expose her to elite level sport.
Georgia was one of eight training partners named for 2023. The group comprises Tahlita Beuthke (Norwood), Caitlin Wendland (Centrals), Elise Barwick (South Adelaide), Tesharna Maher (Norwood), Kaitey Whittaker (Norwood), Brooklyn Kraft (Woodville-West Torrens), Georgie Pater (West Adelaide) and Georgia Swan (Sturt/Devs).
Being named a training partner also gives them an opportunity to be considered more seriously for a possible future AFLW contract.
This follows Georgia being named in The Advertiser SANFLW team of the year for 2023, claiming the HBF spot at the age of 19.
A talented footballer, Georgia started at Bridgwater, playing in the U9 to U14 mixed comps. When Mt Lofty introduced its U18 and Senior program in 2016, Georgia transferred over to continue her football journey. The rest, as they say, is history.
CONGRATULATIONS GEORGIA – never stop giving ’em hell

It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of Krista Foale.
Krista attended Heathfield High School alongside several Mt Lofty club members and was heavily involved with the Heathfield Netball Club. Krista’s husband Malcolm (known as Fuji or Mal) and son Jack, both played for Mt Lofty. Malcolm joined Mt Lofty as a junior in 1967 and played until 1987. Jack began as an Auskicker and played until Under 15s when he made the difficult decision to retire.
Krista was a Life Member of the Heathfield Netball Club and contributed much to the club, including as a committee member for 12 years, umpiring, coaching and running the canteen for several years. These details are contained in a beautiful post to the Netball Club’s Facebook page, which also noted “Krista’s happy disposition and effervescent personality will be missed by her many friends at the club”.
The Lofty Legends Group and The Mt Lofty District Football Club express our sincere condolences to Malcolm (Fuji), Eloise, Maddi and Jack. The thoughts of the club are with Krista’s family and friends at this difficult time.
