Well we are BACK! And Round 1 saw three new fellas debut for the Devils A Grade out at Uraidla, and all three of put in a huge effort to be proud of.

They were presented their guernseys before the match by club stalwart, life member, past A Grade Coach, and 2021 SA AFL Junior Coach of the year, Leith Dawes, who gave all of the boys a passionate talk on what it means to play for Mt Lofty and wear our guernsey.

Welcome to the club:
#8 Kenny Lam

#23 Ash Eckermann

Kylie and Chis the proud parents of Sam McTaggart were able to be there to enjoy the experience too.

FOOTY OVAL PREP |

FOOTY OVAL PREP |

Friday we prepped the cricket pitch on Arkaba Oval for footy season 👹

A MASSIVE shout out to the guys that got in did the work, senior players Ash Eckermann and Anderson Wood, not forgetting forgetting Ian Deans, John Coventry and Scott Taylor who are there for us thick and thin, from all the work with the new change rooms, right down to organising the new turf for cricket pitch.

This year we have pre-cut turf all laid out ready to go. Our coaches have been informed, NO feet will be on it until after Easter, giving it a good rest to settle in.

Bring season 2022!

| VALE PETER “BARNEY” ALLEN |

Peter “Barney” Allen, one of Heathfield Aldgate United’s great players, has sadly passed away at just 66. Never without a smile, Barney was an extremely popular and dedicated clubman. As a tough “no nonsense” defender, his record is quite incredible from the amazing HAU era, making him one of the club’s most decorated as a member of the following Premierships:

                        1971 Senior Colts

                        1972 A Grade,

                        1973 A Grade

                        1974 A Grade

                        1975 A Grade

                        1976 A Grade

                        1977 A Grade

The Lofty Legends Group and the Mt Lofty District Football Club, offer our sincere condolences to Barney’s mother, Roma, children Adam and Megan and son in law Ben, Grandchildren Jae, Savannah and Abbey, brothers Barry and Greg, sisters Lynette and Judy and their families.

Barney will be very sadly missed by so many people, but his contribution to the team and the club will never be forgotten.

The following Funeral notice appeared in the Saturday Advertiser:

“The family and friends of Peter (Barney) are invited to his funeral service to be conducted entirely at the Carr Memorial Chapel, 1 Morphett Street, Mount Barker on Wednesday 30th March, 2022 at 2.00pm. In lieu of floral tributes, donations to the Flinders Cancer and Wellness Centre would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the service. SENIOR MENS |

SENIOR MENS |

Our senior mens had their second good hit out today against Westminster OC. Whilst historically we don’t keep score in trial matches, we can say both the A’s and B’s had significantly more kicks go through the big sticks than the Old Collegians. The boys were excellent today and we have boys to come back in still.

Needless to say that selections are going to be very difficult for Bawds and Shaun this year.

See you out at Uraidla for R1 in the red & white.

Give ‘em Hell this year Boys!
