50 SENIOR GAMES AT THE DEVS | LUCY NORTHCOTT

50 SENIOR GAMES AT THE DEVS | LUCY NORTHCOTT

Lucy, or ‘Butch’ as she’s more affectionally known by the Devils, has finally hit the 50 club games.

An original Devil from our first womens season in 2016, it didn’t take Lucy long to get back into the swing of footy following an illustrious Auskick career as a youngster.

Despite being an inaugural Devil, it would be in the SANFL where Butch would first hit a 50 game milestone as she was quickly snapped up to play at a higher level at SANFLW. Over the years she’s picked up Premierships with Norwood and South Adelaide even been lucky enough to be one of four player to pick up 2 Premierships in 2 years in the Leagues conception, but Butch has always kept her strong connection to the Devils, and played in our HFL Premiership side in 2021.

Known for breaking tackles, busting packs and kicking snags, we always feel safer when she’s on the field. Lucy is a strong leader, an amazing club person and great mentor for our footballers.

Happy 50th with the Devs, Lucy! Give ‘em Hell mate ????

50 SENIOR GAMES AT THE DEVS | KATE CHAPMAN

50 SENIOR GAMES AT THE DEVS | KATE CHAPMAN

Kate has been a loyal and committed Devil since moving from Pultney to play senior football with Mt Lofty in 2019.

Kate has taken on the role more recently of Vice Captain in 2022 where she has thrived as a leader, encouraging and inspiring her team mates.

This Vice Captain’s roles on field have been dynamic, initially playing roles as a key forward, with a career highs of 7 goals against Ironbank in 2022 and a 2021 Devils Premiership. She is always open to new challenges, proving this in 2023 having taken the bull by the horns with more midfield time in 2023. Her hard hall gets, blocking and hard tackles have been pivotal in the Devils 2023 campaign to date. In every one of her 50 games to date.

Kate has given her all and left nothing out on the field in true Devils spirit. Off field she devotes her time back to the club in major functions and helping wherever she can any time.

Congrats on an incredible 50 games Kate! Give ‘em Hell

50 SENIOR GAMES AT THE DEVS | HANNAH DOUGLAS-HILL

50 SENIOR GAMES AT THE DEVS | HANNAH DOUGLAS-HILL

Hannah is long time Devil who has, over the years, given her all to both on the field, off the fields, helping with juniors, running Auskick in 2022, and performing highly in social affairs at the club.

Hannah is known as the team bulldog, although she is one of the smallest players Hannah is tough as guts, tackling and running down anyone in her sights! One of her most memorable games was against blackwood in 2022, where she scored more than her opponents with her own boot, notching up 3 goals to Blackwood’s 2!

Hannah is constantly making other people laugh with her infectious and bubbly personality. She lifts the team and always brings out the best of others on the team. She is a valued member of the team and another of our 2021 premiership player still with us today in 2023

Congratulations on making 50 Hannah! We know we don’t need to egg you on to give ‘em Hell

VALE JACK HAMPTON

VALE JACK HAMPTON

Our much-loved Heathfield Aldgate United Life Member and Number One Ticket Holder of the Lofty Legends Group, Jack Hampton, passed away this week at age 99.

Jack has battled ill health for several years and with the wonderful support of his family, he remained in the family home which he and Joyce built on Longwood Road Heathfield in the early 1950’s, at which time he decided that he should play with the local club and transferred from Stirling to Heathfield.

The amalgamation with Aldgate saw Jack become a key person in the Heathfield Aldgate United Football Club. His service to football in the Hills saw him as a Premiership player, Premiership Coach and an official who took on so many roles, including the ceiling installation in the old change rooms as well as many other tasks required when the Heathfield Oval was constructed. The dedication to the club which he showed, along with Joyce, set the way for his family where both Lorraine, who was sadly lost almost two years ago, and Kevin, were both made Life Members of the Mt Lofty District Football Club. Seven Grandsons have since played for Mt Lofty with Josh Healey now a Premiership Player after another win in last year’s B Grade side.
