A proud day for all involved! Welcome to the Devs lads.
Congratulations to Aajiah Jericho, who will ran out for her 50th Senior Club game on Friday night, at home against Blackwood.
We were lucky enough to celebrate her 150 career games milestone in 2023, but there’s something special about hitting that big 5⦁0 club games with us here at the Devs.
Since transferring from Morphies in 2019, Aaj certainly has made her mark at the Devils. A talented midfielder who isn’t afraid to go in and get a hard ball. Members of the crowd will often be heard asking “who is that number 30” after seeing her weave her way through the corridor with ease.
A three-time winner of the Ellen Maple Best & Fairest and a Devils Premiership player, Aaj has found a home at Mt Lofty, and is a much-loved member of the squad, highlighted as she was voted by her peers to be a Vice Captain and help lead the Devils on their 2024 quest.
Well done Aaj and we can’t wait to watch you for 50+ more in the red & white! Give ‘em Hell mate 🔥
It was wonderful to see some members of one of our heritage club Heathfield Aldgate United, take time to catch up at club sponsor Aldgate Pump Hotel, prior to season start. The Aldgate Pump Hotel has a wonderful history with HAU as the social gathering point over the years.
HAU footballers had a great time going through memories of the 44 year Australian Record of unbeaten matches, only beaten in 2020 by Queensland Club Yeppoon, in a 6-team competition.
Initially, our unbeaten run between 1971 and 1976 was calculated as 88 games, but an analysis several years ago revealed that it was “only” 87 games without loss.
We were very excited to accept a $25,000- Grant from the SA Football Facilities Fund to put towards our Scoreboard project.
Chairman Peter Harvey, Sponsor Coordinator Chris Illman were down at Adelaide Oval on the weekend for the announcement and met with SANFL representatives including Rebecca Tappert.
A huge thank you to Chris Illman, Ian Deans and all that helped in the Grant process.
The job is still not over, we will have new fundraising initiatives to be announced this month.
