Peter “Barney” Allen, one of Heathfield Aldgate United’s great players, has sadly passed away at just 66. Never without a smile, Barney was an extremely popular and dedicated clubman. As a tough “no nonsense” defender, his record is quite incredible from the amazing HAU era, making him one of the club’s most decorated as a member of the following Premierships:
1971 Senior Colts
1972 A Grade,
1973 A Grade
1974 A Grade
1975 A Grade
1976 A Grade
1977 A Grade

Barney will be very sadly missed by so many people, but his contribution to the team and the club will never be forgotten.

Our senior mens had their second good hit out today against Westminster OC. Whilst historically we don’t keep score in trial matches, we can say both the A’s and B’s had significantly more kicks go through the big sticks than the Old Collegians. The boys were excellent today and we have boys to come back in still.
Needless to say that selections are going to be very difficult for Bawds and Shaun this year.
The senior players voted for our womens leaders over the last few weeks.
The result of this vote are in:
Holly Aiston as womens Captain.
Bec Northcott and Kate Chapman are the joint Vice Captains.
We believe this is a fantastic leadership group. Holly has been an exceptional leader and captain over the last few years, and we are looking forward to her working with our group again in season 2022. Bec and Kate both bring a huge amount of experience and passion to our group, and will show great support to Holly in her role as captain.
Our last hit out before the season starts 💪 Mt Lofty Westminster OS at Kenilworth this Saturday 26 March B’s start at 10am and A’s at 12 noon- see you there!
Thank you to Scotch College Women’s and Keith FC for joining us at Cornerstone College today for our first knock out of the year. Both our senior womens and mens squads got a great run and the coaching panels got a great look at the highlights and working points for the next few weeks.
We did not have a photographer there on the day.. However, one of the team did say they had a new sports lens for their Nokia 3310 they wanted to try out 🤣.. sooo we thought something is better than nothing right?!?!
