Lofty Legends Award
It is presented to a player who is dedicated to the team and the club and is heavily committed to their own improvement and that of the team. They are also persistent and determined and treat everybody with respect, while respecting all aspects of the club.
It is selected by each team’s coaching panel and is donated by the Lofty Legends Group, which maintains the contact of former players, coaches, volunteers and supporters with the club, while supporting the club in various ways including maintenance and any other tasks required. The “Legends” term refers to the wonderful stories of the clubs in the areas which have gone before us – Aldgate, Crafers, Heathfield, Heathfield Aldgate United and Stirling.
As season 2022 draws to a close, the Mount Lofty District Football Club (MLDFC) has started planning for 2023 and beyond.

Shaun Gould, the man that has given everything to this club, has now got his ultimate reward, a premiership, and is ready to hang up the proverbial boots.
Devoted for the last 3 years to the B Grade Men as Head Coach and willing them all the way to a ’22 Courier Cup and Premiership, Bubbles and his boys have grown into a stellar young team that have bonded together to take the ultimate reward for all of the hard work and effort put in over this time
Shaun has also helped drive the Women’s Program literally from nothing at Mt Lofty in 2016, as well as taking on the inaugural Coach role, plus has played in his is own Premierships – ’06 Senior Colts and ’10 B Grade. If it hadn’t been for injury we are sure he would have been a player coach in the 2022 flag too.
One of the best a club could ask for: line marker, time-keeper, BBQ cook, team manager, football director, bar worker, Super Sunday coordinator, water runner, goal umpire, waiter, coach of all grades, team mate and friend to all.
Congratulations to Coach Shaun Gould and his boys who faced wild weather conditions on Saturday and took out the B Grade Premiership against the reigning Premiers Hahndorf. It was a stellar season, taking out the Courier Cup and the top accolade, well done boys!
#33 Benett Wood also picked up the Best on Ground for the day. AMAZING!
