On behalf of the Mt Lofty Football Club, we are pleased to be able to congratulate Gus Winwood on playing his 50th A Grade game against the Uraidla Demons on home soil this week!
Angus has been a life time Devil, playing footy with the club from the Age of 7. Not only this, he has played through every grade offered through the men’s program, which makes him one of our proud home grown products.
You’ll find him crashing a pack from a hard lead or working back to the goal square, giving everything he can, every game he plays! Not only this, you will find Angus behind the bar, behind the BBQ, out with the women’s program, helping with the kids… where ever you need a true blue Devil 👹
Gus is on the committee as a player representative again this year, and has always given plenty off the field. He truly ticks the boxes as a team and club man.
We hope you have a cracker in your 50th in front of a good crowd mate. GIVE ‘EM HELL!

Hello to all players, parents/care givers, members, and supporters.
It is with great pleasure we can finally say the changeroom new works are about to commence.
This has been a long process, and one the without the help of many hours put in behind the scenes from within the club, community and council would never have gotten of the ground. To all of those I say a massive thank-you for all you have done. I must point out two of our legends within the club, Ian Deans and John Coventry, who for many years have guided, pushed, and ensured that the best use of this area would guarantee the community had a facility to be very proud of for many years to come, so thank you for all you have done.
So where to from here.
On Monday 16th August the builder will formally take possession of the site. This means as of this Sunday night [15th] the football club will be without a changeroom for the remainder of the season. This date has been delayed for as long as possible, but for the builder to try to achieve their contractual obligations this date was settled on. This means next weeks trainings and subsequent games for the SANFL will be without a changeroom. We are working on getting something temporary sorted in the lower part of the pavilion, but I would ask for this short period of time, you come changed ready to train and or play. Please note there will not be any showers during this period, but the club room toilets will be made available if required.
So, this short-term pain will all be forgotten when we come back in the new year to a facility that will be the envy of many clubs.
We will be working very hard behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and timely transition into the new facility before the start of the 2022 season.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact me directly.
The boys are back at Arkaba Oval again this week to take on Uraidla, and so are some of our littlest Devils on Friday night. We are still very excited to be able to have everybody back out to watch us doing what we do after the State’s Delta variant scare.
Please remember a few things when you head to either Arkaba Oval, or any other oval this weekend to cheer us on: -Sports clubs are still able to resume competition and sport events can go ahead -People must wear masks -Seated consumption for food and drinks – both indoor and outdoor -Remember to sign in on entry with the QR code check in or sign in sheet -No indoor singing or dancing – this includes club songs -Please socially distance appropriately
What an amazing story. Leithal Dawes’ U17 Girls have made the Prelim Final to be played at Ironbank this coming Sunday August 15th vs Onkas. The winner will take on Hahndorf in the Grand Final.
This is a HUGE achievement on a number of fronts.
Last year we didn’t have enough players to make a team so we formed an awesome amalgamation with Nairne Bremer Football Club. Our first match in 2020 was a 10 goal loss, turning our season around with our last match (to the same team) with a 1 point win, giving the girls a taste of finals footy where they gave it a fair crack in the 1st Semi.
In 2021 we still don’t have quite enough players, with at least 8 talented girls having played up from the U15s, and some will continue do so through the finals. A shout out goes to U15G coach Micheal Smart for sharing his team with ours, and for coaching them to such a high quality standard that they are able to hold their own in upper level football. The focus on a team game these girls play and the football that is produced is a credit to all involved.
Congratulations on making it to the Prelim Girls. GIVE ‘EM HELL!!
