Congratulations to Kim Lawson on reaching 100 Senior Games and in doing so ran out in the GRAND FINAL against Blackwood Green at Nairne on Sunday.
Kim is just the second member of our women’s team to reach this achievement, and what’s more, she hit the milestone in the big dance!
Kim has been one of our women’s team’s longest members, starting training with the Devs back in our 2016 season when we were yet to even hit double figures of squad members! In that year Kim even balanced playing netball for Heathfield with her first season of footy.
Kim quickly became both a reliable team member who would barely miss a training, as well as one of our most reliable defenders. Not much gets past Kim’s hands and she also has an elite kick to rebound out of D50. Despite some brief hiatus to go to the snow seasons in Canada, Kim has always remained loyal to the Devs so it’s no surprise she is one of the first to hit 100 games in the candy stripes.
Despite her long reign as a lockdown defender, Kim also showed her versatility through the 2024 season, spending some time up forward and getting some snags to show for it.
Kim is a valued on-field team member as well as off-field, often the first to put her hand up to volunteer when needed at the club. And you can always count on Kim to pump up and get around her team mates.
Kim was a member of our 2021 HFL Premiership and will be hoping to add another flag to her collection when we take on Blackwood in the Grand Final on Sunday!
Congratulations mate, always Give ‘em Hell Kimmy
